I am going to be diagnosed with a horrible disease tomorrow.
« on: April 10, 2014, 10:26:58 PM »
I am going to the eye doctor again tommorow. I have already been 6 times in the last 6 months.

I know that I am going to be diagnosed to with Keratoconus either tomorrow or in the near future. I have ALL of the symptoms.

I am crying my eyes out right now. I don't know what to do. There is nothing I can do.

When he tells me I have the disease, I am going to have a nervous breakdown.

I don't want this. I am going to have to wear contacts for the rest of my life. I might even eventually need a corneal transplant. My vision is going to get worse and worse.

I am so screwed. :traurig001: :traurig001: :traurig001: :traurig001: :traurig001: :traurig001:

YES!! I went to the first doctor 3 times and the the 2nd doctor 3 times.

They both have said that my eyes are perfectly healthy.

THERE IS SOMETHING REALLY WRONG WITH MY EYES! I really wish that could just find it.

Surprisingly enough, I was not diagnosed with anything. I know I have something though. I hope that it is not anything serious. I have many of the symptoms (that I found on the internet :() of Keratoconus.

I know that it is one of the symptoms of hypochondria to second guess your doctor, but I legitimately think that they are overlooking something.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the symptoms.

Blurred vision, light sensitivity, poor night vision and headaches.

These are all symptoms of being nearsighted, having migraines, having eyestrain, etc.  I had them all - my eye doctor said I had weak eye muscles.

All of them are incredibly generic and nonspecific.  It also appears that the exam findings for the diagnosis are incredibly specific.  With six eye exams, they'd have caught on by now.

I'm going through a what-if-my-doctor-is-wrong time too.  They're the worst.  But it's almost certainly in our heads.

If you go to two different doctors three times each, and they both say you're fine, then you're probably fine.

You're right, you ARE going to be diagnosed with a horrible disease but it's NOT Keratoconus it's ANXIETY!!!!!

Treat your anxiety and you'll treat your vision issues

Everything is so bad.

My lower legs as well as my arms have felt weak every night for the past 3 days.
I have random muscle twitches whenever I lie down.
I get 1 big hyponic twitch EVERY NIGHT just before I fall asleep.
My head hurts a little every night.
My eyes get so tired sometimes if my body isn't tired.
All of this + the eye symptoms makes me want to go find some other disease and convince myself that I have it.
I am resisting the urge.  I almost made myself believe that I had Idiopathic intracranial hypertension earlier today, but I refuse to let the cycle continue.

Maybe everything will get better after Summer Vacation comes. My hard classes are really stressing me out right now. I am perfectionist when it comes to school, and anything less than a high A is not good enough for me.

No wonder you have anxiety, you're so hard on yourself!  It's good to be driven but don't make yourself sick over it!  But everything you describe sounds like intense anxiety.  Get more sleep if you can, that helps me sometimes.
