Swollen gums and or Canker sore?
« on: April 09, 2014, 03:01:19 PM »
It seems to happen every so often. The gums behind my left front tooth get swollen, and right behind the front left tooth I can this sore, raw patch of flesh, or a burn... the incisor papilla or something.

Really hurts to eat or drink this time.

Is this of a concern?

I'm not a doctor or dentist but that does sound like a canker sore.  There are remedies for them that might help - check your drugstore/ask your pharmacist.

Have you eaten any hot food lately?   Sometimes if you burn yourself on hot pizza for example your skin in a few days will feel very raw and even start to peel in a few days.  I burn the roof of my mouth at times like that and HAVE burned the gums behind a tooth or 2 in my time.
