Do all brain tumors cause nausea?
« on: April 07, 2014, 03:27:01 PM »
I always hear people say if your major symptom are tension headaches with no balance problems, personality changes,  or dizziness you probably are just stressed. But what about small tumors or tumors in certain sides of the head?

Any tumor is not supposed to be there. The brain is only given so much room. When something infiltrates it, SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE, generally goes pretty wonky. That's not always the case, though. There isn't really a typical "brain tumor." They don't all present the same way.

I'm willing to bet though, considering you're on a health anxiety board and post very frequently about a wide variety of things, that you do not have one despite what you might be feeling. Your health anxiety is likely the culprit. Treat it, and everything else will follow.

My dad had a benign brain tumor, he didn't have nausea. He had other symptoms that were different from a headache (which I won't share here as not to set anyone off) - he just KNEW it wasn't normal. He's doing just fine now 5 years after surgery.  ;D

That's rad to hear about your dad. Most brain tumors aren't too dangerous however people always assume the worst.

I know my problems - chronic headaches, neck pains, fatigue, crawling head feeling - likely aren't tumor related but there's a worry that pops up often.

Those symptoms are probably more likely caused by tension in the neck and shoulders.

My dad had a (non-benign) brain tumor, and I'm not going to tell you what he did have, but nausea was not a symptom.

In case anyone is still confused:  googling your symptoms will cause you to remain in a state of extreme anxiety. Stepping away from the internet is the first step toward lasting peace.
