So upset
« on: April 07, 2014, 11:35:48 AM »
Hi all. I could really use some support. I posted a little ways back about having a small ovarian cyst that my dr says is not worrisome. But I'm experiencing intense episodes of pain on the same side but sometimes higher up like near my ribs on the right and wrapping around my back. She sent me for an ultrasound of my upper right quadrant looking for possibly gallstones or kidney stones. Well I just got a call that it was normal. Of course. Can't ever get a simple explanation. So now I'm back to panicking that the pain is from OvCa and it's the end or I'm never going to feel better. I'm so tired of doctors not being able to help. I hate this and it makes me so depressed . :-(

I've had lots of ovarian cysts and the little buggers can be painful.  I actually have a pendunculated fibroid (basically its on a stalk) and it is only the size of a walnut and it sent me to the ER.

Doctors always tell you that tiny ovarian cysts are not painful and frankly they are.

Ovarian cancer is seldom painful until the tumor is so large its pressing on other organs.  If you had an abdominal ultrasound and it wasn't showing up, you are more than likely ok.

If you are still concerned have them give you an pelvic ultrasound.  if you have had one of those already, then I wouldn't worry if its that small.

Thank you ColdHands for taking the time to respond. I had a trans. Ultrasound about 7 weeks ago when I first experienced the pain because I have a history of cysts and I knew it was around ovulation time. They said the cyst was consistent with just having ovulated and should resolve in a few cycles. However the pain seems way too high and intense for how small the cyst is. Also after 7 weeks the pain is just as bad. I'm scared because it seems to not have resolved like it "should". I'm also scared of that small percent that it's not benign. Have you ever had a cyst not resolve on its own? I'm also wondering if I should ask for a HIDA scan or go see a GI specialist. It just upsets me that stones in the gallbladder couldn't just show up so the search for the problem could be done and move on to a resolution.

I know this is an old post, but I was back looking on here because I'm having my fibroid tested again next week and was looking for my old posts!

I haven't had one that didn't resolve on its own, no.
How are you doing?  I did have GB issues so a HIDA scan would show that too.

I do have a liver disease too, so I am familiar with abdominal weirdness.

Let me know how you are.
