Sounds familiar. Also go in early and often will wake up in a few hours. Sometimes I'll take a very small amount of red wine, has a calming effect and, with patience, drift off to sleep again.
The key, I believe, is to accept the interruption, not fight it, be content to rest with pleasant thoughts and know sleep will return as it inevitably does. In fact, sometimes I like that time knowing I am warm, comfortable and can still drift off.
