Want to add that I have worked so hard on myself for years that I now can have days that could be some of the best I ever had. It takes work which can actually be enjoyable. Learn about ourself, work at overcoming fears, worries, expectations, the influence of others. CBT is big, journaling, various exercise and, above all, meditation. There is hope.
