Heart rate help
« on: April 03, 2014, 12:25:57 AM »
Hey guys, it has been a while since I've posted.  I come back here with worries about my heart rate.  I have been doing cardio and weights since January about 6 times a week and overall I seem to be fine.  The worry I am having is that my resting heart rate is between 47-55. Is that normal?  My bp is always 120/70-75.  I had a holter monitor done in December  with EKG, blood work and chest X-ray- all normal.  Should I worry about this heart rate or is it normal? Every website I look seems to say this is too low. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

What does your dr. think?

I have heard people in great shape have lower resting heart rates

Dr said that 47 doesn't concern him in absence of being lightheaded or dizzy-which I am not. I want to believe it so badly and I should, it's just with everything I read it just contradicts.

My boyfriend has been doing weightlifting and cardio for about three years 5 times a week and his resting heart rate is really slow too. His ECG was normal. It's just because you're fit I think.

Wish I was that fit!
