Jaw feels weak freaking me out
« on: April 02, 2014, 08:11:31 AM »
Good morning all I'm wondering if anybody has experienced this. I have major health anxiety and for the past couple months the muscles in my jaw(tmj) have felt weak on and off. It's not to the point that I can't keep my mouth closed but it feels weird. I took my anti anxiety med last night and the feeling went away but this morning it's back. My tongue and lips have full strength and I'm not slurring my words or choking on food. My biggest fear right now is als constantly. Any response would be appreciated thank you

Look into TMJ or see your dentist or an oral surgeon (a TMJ specialist --usually).

I'm having weird jaw problems as well, although my fear is heart problems. My lower jaw has been having all kinds of pressure, pain, and tingling intermittently throughout the day. I can't find any sore spots, it doesn't hurt to chew, there's no hot or cold sensitivity....it's just these weird sensations that come and go. No doctors can give me a real explanation so I can't help but worry:(.

sounds to me like you are clenching your jaw likely when you are sleeping and in the waking hours its undoubtedly sore.
