Blood work shows low RBC but I take daily vitamins!
« on: April 01, 2014, 09:01:27 AM »
I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I just looked up my routine lab work online through my doctor's office and noticed I have low red blood cells (3.5 when the minimum should be 3.8), low hemoglobin and low hematocrit. Everything else is within range. Does this mean I'm anemic? I've been taking pre-natal vitamins for the past year which contain iron. Could pregnancy cause these counts to be low even if you're taking daily vitamins? I have a dr. appt next week but I'm worried.
