Celexa and drinking

I just started taking 20 mg of Celexa....I'm going out with friends and really want a craft beer. Is it ok to take celexa and have 1-2 beers....I know not drink too much

Occasionally, yes. However, some find the effects of the antidepressant+booze combination can be unpredictable. Some days a small beer can turn their legs to rubber, on others they could drink a herd of alcoholic elephants under the table. So don't drive or engage in other potentially dangerous activity until you have worked out how you're being affected.

I agree with the above, but just wanted to say that I was on Celexa last year and drank on it with no problem.

Thanks, I assume that the effects would  be different than normally. I guess my big worry was would it cause me to drop dead....hence the celexa.

The effects for me were no different than normal, from what I can remember. And you are not going to drop dead. I understand the anxiety about that sort of thing but try to let that particular worry go.
