Yearly appointment today
« on: March 27, 2014, 06:52:55 AM »
I'm freaking out as usual.  I see the breast surgeon every year.  I had a non cancerous lump 7 years ago.  She said I'm not at any greater risk so I'm not sure why I see her but I do.  Every year I think, this is the year something will be wrong.  I have to take my 3 year old with me.  I feel much more at ease when he is with me, he is autistic and I have no one to watch him.  Hopefully there won't be a long wait where he'll get impatient and my blood pressure won't rise while trying to care for him in the waiting room.  It sucks to feel this nervous that you want to throw up.

I hope everything goes well. I know all about taking little ones with me to my appts. I end up being more stressed that things will take too long and they'll get restless. Ipad and snacks! I'm sure you'll be fine, update us.

Please don't worry. I had a hard, unmovable , painless, pea sized lump about 5 years ago. It was there at least 6 months before I got it checked. I was around 18 years old at the time. Everything about it screamed cancer! I got an ultrasound and mammogram. Results were inconclusive but I had to go back in 6 months to see If it had grown. Turns out it shrunk so small I couldn't feel it anymore!

I had a call back to get a diagnostic mammo about three years ago and it turned out to be nothing, but I know where you are coming from. Its just plain scary.  I always get uptight around mammogram time.  I don't think its HA either.  Its just plain old garden variety anxiety and iin my book, well founded
