When I'm trying to sleep and worries take over, I play something I call the alphabet game with myself. I pick a subject, like animals or movie titles, and go through the alphabet, naming one for each letter. So, if it were animals: armadillo, bat, cheetah, etc. Usually, I don't get through the whole alphabet before falling asleep and if I do, I start over. It's a good mental distraction. (:
