women--sharp breast pain?
« on: March 24, 2014, 07:00:13 PM »
Has anyone had this? Sharp pain under my left breast, like a constant pain. It hurts worse when I try to massage my breast or something. It feels like it's actually inside my breast, sort of originating under the nipple and extending back (sorry if that was TMI). This is the second or third time it's happened in a week. It's also the week of my period.

I'm really nervous it's a pulmonary embolism or something. I'm having a bad, bad panic attack right now because of it. It's mild to moderately painful and it's also just really uncomfortable. There are no other visible symptoms. Usually my breasts swell during my period and that's when it started, but my PMS symptoms have all gone away (including breast swelling) and this sharp pain persists.

I have that (among a multitude of other symptoms). I wouldn't be too worried-- doc told me breast pain usually isn't anything. And almost def not cancer.

I get breast pain as one of my anxiety symptoms. It seems to go from one brest to the other iwth no rhyme or reason. I heard it could be hormonal.

I have had something similar - I went to the doctor and it was chest wall inflammation. If you push on the breast but not the muscle underneath, does it hurt? I can always tell when mine is muscular because the breast itself feels fine, but when I push through the breast to the muscle there is pain.

I'm going to guess it's hormonal since it happens during your period.  I get all sorts of aches and pains.  Sometimes piercing pains in one or the other breast.
