Getting a tooth pulled tomorrow
« on: March 24, 2014, 05:56:43 PM »
I went to the dentist last week for the infected tooth of mine. They said they could try to do a root canal but the tooth is too damaged so they don't think it'd work. So I'm going tomorrow morning to get it pulled. I'm SO nervous! Have any of you had a tooth pulled?! I could really use some advice!

Is the dentist pulling it or are you seeing an oral surgeon?  I've had both and it's really easy.  They numb you so you don't feel a thing and out it comes.  Just keep the gauze in for the few hours afterwards and you'll be just fine.

If you have any specific questions, just let me know.

it's fine. People do this everyday. Don't be afraid of the needle don't even look you won't feel a thing. It's all for the best isn't it? Just don't stress about it because stressing is only going to make this thing worse! If it was dangerous in any way they wouldn't do it :) good luck

Ahh I hady tooth extracted #30 back molar, two months ago, I got too much novacaine shots in my jawbone that it caused me to have tmj inflamation;/ make sure you get no more then 3 I got 6 it was the worst mistake of my life! It's a ease to get it out believe me just take good care of it leave the cotton on after it bleeds for an hour then change it. In the night rinse your mouth out with salt water. Do this every time after eating. Mine is healthy :) cause I took good care of it till this day I deal with scalp tenderness and ear aches ;/ as we as forehead pain. Make sure to take your medication prescribed ! Best of luck any more questions please feel free to ask me don't be scared okay remember tooth extraction pain is temporary !

I had to have my tooth in the back bottom right extracted years ago b/c it was split. The tooth hurt so bad for weeks prior to the extraction that it was such a relief to get it out! Just went thru the process of getting an implant in it's place 2 years ago. Now all is well, just like it will be for you! Take care.
