Brain tumor?? Please help!
« on: March 22, 2014, 11:38:36 AM »
Hi guys!
For the past five days I have woken up with a horrible headache. It seems to get better when I sit up for a little bit. I also have had nonstop ringing in my ears. I read online that waking up with a headache could indicate a brain tumor. I'm so scared! I am also on the generic of zoloft and yesterday upped my dosage from 25mg to 50mg. I have previously never experienced this when taking zoloft
Please help :(

Stop researching the internet. You do not have a brain tumor, it is probably from your medication increase.

That doesn't make sense though because I just increased my meds yesterday and I've had this headache for about a week now :/

I've had headaches now for almost a month. All day for most of the day. I was so scared that I've seen 4 different drs for it.

they all say its stress/tension.....which makes sense the way my life has been going lately. Have you been to your gp or anything? I really think your fine, I'm actually going to post a link here that I want you to read.

Ringing in the ears also known as tinnitus.....is not alone indicative of any sort of brain problem. One of my old des had chronic tinnitus....had it everyday day all day...and it meant nothing. I've had it for 3 days straight one time and then it just went away.

Ok, calm down. I have a headache from the moment I wake up till the moment I go to sleep for a month now. I've been to 4 drs. Did you read the link that I posted? Headaches are hardly EVER a sign of a brain tumor, and if it were it wouldn't come and go and it would be accompanied by LOTS of other crazy symptoms. Go to your Dr if it makes your mind feel better but I'll bet my paycheck that your ok!!!

Just wondering if any of you have thought if seasonal allergies?? Flowers are blooming like crazy here. Headaches can be caused by that. Also, I had a severe 2 week stabbing headache in one spot of my head. Scary thing was pain meds didn't make it go away. I demanded an MRI which the neuro said I didn't need, my scan came back clear, and magically my headache was gone . Poof.

I read the link you posted but it still makes me so neevous. I've read brain tumors can cause ear ringing, headaches in the MORNING, and nausea. I have them all. Constant ear ringing, and awful headaches when I wake up. I also have a history of head rushes, and the back of my scalp feels hot and burning

Interesting. I get ringing of the ears fairly often, I get stabbing ice pick headaches (always scares me a bit that it's an aneurysm), and I get odd scalp feelings also. Man if I listed all the strange feelings and symptoms I get lol.... Yet my only concern at this point is lymphoma... Because night sweats speak louder to me than those annoyances that I've gotten used to. Anyways, point is, you can have these things and not have a brain tumor or anything like that. I'm one of those unlucky people who's hyper aware of their body. Every twinge, every itch, every pain. I daresay must people on this forum are. My therapist talked to me how some people are wires that way. Doesn't mean we are anymore prone to diseases, but unfortunately it's harder for us to ignore than most "normal" people. My husband fits the bill as a normal person. He hardly notices anything about his body.
