brain tumor worriers....do not read...
« on: March 15, 2014, 12:56:01 PM »
Ok so I've had forehead, eye headaches and earaches for 3 weeks. Neuro, gp, ER Dr and eye Dr say no type of brain scan needed!! I can't see the ent until April 15th. Drs so far are saying its tension or sinus related.

THEN....i found this link ---- and it really scared me. The boy started out with a few minor headaches per day. Can someone help me make something sound logical out of this?

Don't look for these articles!  :angry-smiley-034:

But since you already read it, remember: "Ninety-nine percent of the time, a headache isn't cancer," says Dr. Gene Barnett, director of the Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center, who treats adults at the Cleveland Clinic. "It's a stress headache or a migraine or sinusitis or something else benign."

I know, you are right I shouldn't have been googling in the first place... I just don't want to be one of the rare stats that end up having a tumor somewhere!

But if you read that article carefully you would see that his headaches got worse fairly quickly and were accompanied by other more severe symptoms. It wasn't just a stress headache. Listen to your doctors-they have all told you it isn't brain related. Try to focus on what they say it IS-stress and tension and fin ways to work on those.

Yes you are right. There were other symptoms along with that boy. I just think too much into things.

I guess I just don't logically understand how simple things like sinuses and tension can cause headaches every single day!

It happens to me everyday and it's normal.  Just something I live with.  Remember, I told you?  Repeat after me: "soaring falcon has sinus headaches every day and it's normal"   :laugh3:

We'll get you through this.

The absolute worst thing you can do is look for articles like this friend. I am guilty of googling the most minor things sometimes. Almost as if im LOOKING for a bad diagnosis. 99% sure its just as your doctor said, sinus related. I hope whatever it is that you find peace within yourself soon so you don't live with this kind of panic. I know how bad it feels. Peace and Prosperity friend.

Omg i have been having the same symptoms like you for over a month. But i also have been experiencing dizziness and nausea and i thought i had tumor. My dr said its allergies and sinus pressure so he told me to take mucinex d and flonase. It helped a little bit but i still do get eye pain, headache and dizziness

I read that article as well! Funnily enough, I read it while I was in the middle of my fear of brain tumors and I didn't really freak out (despite the fact that I did get short, stabbing pains!) mostly because well... when I stopped to think about it, it didn't fit and there are so many more logical reasons than a BT =)

Headaches happen for various reasons, sometimes it does seem inconceivable but trust me you'll sleep better when you accept it. Like for instance today I woke up with a headache, because I went to bed too late (6am ... was a terrible idea) and than proceeded to force myself out of bed despite my body needing to rest more = boom headache.

If you get headaches daily, it could be a issue with your muscles, lack of sleep, or sometimes - the reason is simply unknown! My mother had a headache every day for a month straight, and than one day it suddenly went away. So headaches on their own usually don't mean anything :)

I had sinus X-rays and scans done.  My issue is chronic irritation from allergies.
