just looking for others to relate at this point...
« on: March 14, 2014, 08:50:29 AM »
So I'm sure most of you have read my recent posts about headaches. They have been there for 3-4 weeks. Across the front of my forehead, sometimes down the back of my head, down the sides etc. My point is that its ALWAYS there!!!

my neuro, gp, ER Dr and eye Dr do not think anything is wrong with my brain. They are all saying sinuses and tension. Nobody will give me a brain scan. My next step is the ent. Uugghhhh

does anyone else have a headache of some sort EVERY single day?? And would you all be reassured by these drs and just go on with life with these headaches??

Yep, I have a sinus headache everyday.  It's just life for me.  I've learned to live with it.  Some days it's worse than others but because of my allergies it's always there.

Anxiety is a huge contributor to headaches as well.

Think through this logically...3 medical professionals have told you that you're fine, it's sinus and tension.  You had a sinus problem.  You have anxiety and you're tensing your muscles even if you're not realizing it contributing to the pain in your neck.

Are you open to taking something for anxiety to see if that relieves your pain?

Sounds EXACTLY like sinuses and tension. I rarely if ever got headaches until I developed a sinus infection a few months ago. Even though the sinus infection seems to be gone for the most part I'll still get the headaches. Pressure in the forehead, behind the eyes sometimes, just one side of my head, back of the head, top of the head etc. The fact that I've been having anxiety and been stressed about everything doesn't help either. While they're never there all day long they do come and go frequently and almost change spots throughout the headache.

Soaring falcon...you are right about seeing all of these specialists and still not being reassured. A keep demanding a brain scan and none will give it to me. Maybe the ent will, but I can't  see him until April 15th.

so would you all be satisfied with a neuro and other drs telling u ur ok without any tests (besides the basic nuero exam).

you are all very helpful...of course I don't wish headaches all day on anyone ...i don't feel alone.

do any of you have then pretty much constant, maybe a break or two during the day?

Ever since my allergies and anxiety kicked in, I've had a headache everyday for a month. It comes and goes at different parts of the day.

I would, yes, because they're Drs ;)  Especially since you're getting the same information from multiple Drs.  One of the hallmarks of HA is not trusting Drs.  It's why scans and tests are not reassuring because the underlying problem has not been treated.

I tell myself that they're the professionals.  They see this all the time.  They know how a patient with a brain tumor presents.

This winter has not been a kind one for those of us with allergies and sinus issues.

I dont know if you are but if you are taking OTC meds every day for a headache you can get a rebound headache from the medicine.  I have had this happen to me.

Sometimes all you need is really solids night sleep to break the cycle.

i suffer from headaches all my life :/

Blood is VERY irritating against the brain, even if you had a small brain bleed you would be in a lot of pain, plus it would keep getting worse as you bled more and more - not remain the same.

I know how you feel - trust me. I often have headaches on either side of my forehead (both on the ends, near the temples). But if it's not getting worse, and you don't have any other symptoms I wouldn't worry :)
