Pain and tenderness
« on: March 12, 2014, 08:34:00 PM »
Woke up with some stiffness around the back of my knee. Hurts when I walk and to be honest I've been feeling pretty sore around my ribs too and it's scaring me. Any advice?  :dazed:

I get sore ribs aaaallllll the time, I think mine has to do with bad posture. Also knee and leg pain, for no apparent reason. My mind always jumps to blood clots, however, I can pretty much get over it fairly quickly since I've seriously thought I've had them at least 15 times in my life. I can't say what yours is from, but more than likely you are perfectly fine. Aches and strange pains are certainly common among us health anxiety folks :)

Thanks man I appreciate the reply. I can totally see what you mean with the blood clot thing. I thought it was that at first too. I woke up with it and it was literally so painful it just kinda stunned me.

i have a fear of blood clots as well. but you don't get pain in your ribs from blood clots.

I think the pain in the ribs/blood clot connection comes from worrying about a pulmonary embolism in the lungs from a clot in the leg breaking off. Any pain anywhere near the chest (like the ribs) strikes fear in my heart, lol. Even though logically I know it would be a much different pain than sore ribs, hypochondria/health anxiety isn't always logical. When I'm freaking out, ribs=chest=PE.
