Working from Home
« on: March 12, 2014, 05:11:49 PM »
What would be the best thing to study to have a career that would allow me to work from home???

I'm thinking of studying computer science to learn how to create forums I could make from home and earn income with advertising on those forums.

Any thoughts???

Graphic design and web site design would earn you more money. Companies are always looking for new web sites. Just a case of learning and then getting your name out there.

We have had similar questions asked before. As it stands we have about ten or more, that I know of, web site designers, that use the main chat room here. There is good money in it if you are good enough. It seems to be the one area that people flock to for work without leaving their homes.

Thanks for the advice Culchcon. I bought a book on web design, but I couldn't follow the lessons because the commands in the book were different from the commands on my computer, but I'm going to call the local community college to see if they have any classes on web design.

Funny as it may sound, there are a lot of web sites that teach you how to build web sites. Plus a few groups you could join on the net to learn the basics of the various types of coding you might need. Java isn't used that much any more. But it is a good place to begin to see how codes work. Or do it the easy way and buy a programme that will do all the coding for you. Saves you time. But you can view the source code and study it and see what each little bit of coding does. Can be a pain at times. Leave out one dash and the whole page might not work. Then you have to read over all this code and find that space were you left the dash out. I remember those long nights well. Banging my head off the wall.  :laugh3:
