So finally saw a psychiatrist
« on: March 12, 2014, 01:06:49 AM »
He thinks my Anxiety and Depression stem from ADD (which i am so glad to finally be diagnosed with actually) but right now he's superscribed me Adderall to see if it helps with anything.
I'm a little on edge about starting it (tomorrow) because I am not positive how it's gonna go... I have read some really awesome stuff about it helping peoples anxiety A LOT which gives me some warm fussy feelings because I am sick of this, but I'm also worried about the potential for addiction and making my anxiety worse and all of that other fun crap...

So yeah...

if anyone can give me some insight in to their experiences? That'd be great...

I'm also worried about the potential for addiction and making my anxiety worse

Addiction is very unlikely at the doses typically prescribed for ADHD. Dependence is possible though uncommon. OTOH, dependence almost always occurs when antidepressants and benzodiazepines are taken for more than a month or two.

and making my anxiety worse

Stimulants can worsen anxiety, but some find it actually reduces it so increased anxiety isn't a given.
