Bowel movement problems
« on: March 11, 2014, 10:32:36 AM »
I've been going back and forth about whether to post about this, as it is SO embarassing to me. lol.  Anyway, I figured that I would, because I'm worried.

For a few days I've been having harder stools and that has resulted in my anus being very sore.  I wanted to see what was causing the soreness, and I feel a small, but swollen and painful spot on the outside of it.  When it first appeared, I saw a little bit of blood on the toilet paper and now I dont.  I remember that this happened to me last April and ended up going away within a couple weeks.  I was eating healthy, but then cheated on my diet.  Could that change my stools quickly?

Of course, when I googled, anal cancer came up and now I'm worried.  Could this be a fissure?

More than likely you just have hemorroids. Blood on paper/pain/itching are all classic symptoms. It could also be a fissure but hemorroids are more common. There are very good over the counter creams and suppositories that will help you.
I have had hemorroids and fissure and they are very painful and annoying but very treatable and not dangerous at all.
Definitely NOT cancer.

Thanks for your reply!! Ugh this is painful. It seems small, but it's annoying the crap out of me. It's hard to sit at my desk at work.

Sounds like a hemorrhoid.  They can be the size of a pea or the size of a walnut!
