Stabbing pain in left shin?
« on: March 11, 2014, 03:13:33 AM »
Since last night I started experiencing  very strong stabbing like pain in my left shin which lasts for a second or two but, like I said it is very strong and I experienced it while lying down actually so it's not produced by movement.

I have no idea what it is but I guess it's smth nerver related and my mind immediately started tbinking of a tumor pressing on a nerve or smth equally bad.

Has anyone experienced smth similar?

I am also scared it could be MS since pain is random, I don't produce it.

I've had pain in shins which got better when I gave my legs rest and found relief from stress.

Warmth seems to help my legs and so I sometimes wear leg warmers at night. You could check with a doctor but relaxing yourself, putting your legs up on a comfortable hassock may just work for you.

Thank you for your answer. The thing is, it's not like dull pain that I can contribute to some injury, and it is not worse with movement.

It started yesterday night when I was lying in bed ready to sleep. Lasts 1-2 seconds but I feel very strong sharp pain. Then I felt it when I woke up and now every hour or so it happens...

I have had the same thing myself sometimes over the years and I blew it off as muscular or nerve related.

It's great to see that you havrn't panicked. It calms me down. You never went to doc for it? Would it last for a few days then stop and later return or in some other way.

When my rational mind kicks in I think that I would tell other ppl with same thing that it doesn't sound like MS or tumor at all. Then anxiety crawls back in...
