Knee feels cold and wet ............
« on: March 10, 2014, 08:05:48 AM »
Hi I hope someone can help me.

For the last couple of days my knee has felt cold and wet but when I touch it its dry?  Is this something to worry about or is my anxiety getting worse

 :( :(

The many and wondrous effects of stress and anxiety are boundless.

I'd say it's in the mind, but you could get a knee brace to help keep it warm or even just a leg warmer pulled up over the knee. It's what I do for one knee that likes to act up now and then, or my stress settles there. Hope this helps some.

May just be some superficial nerve endings in the knee.  My kneecap (the skin) is numb (If I pull the skin higher up on my knee, I can tell it's the SKIN that is numb, not the knee itself - I think I injured it YEARS ago), the other knee cap doesn't have good feeling in it either.  I think the skin on the knee cap is very sensitive.  And what you are describing sounds SO familiar!

Personally?  I wouldn't go.   I mean you could mention it to him/her if you go for something else in the future if it's still there - but as for me, I wouldn't even bring it up.   (I'd only mention things that could be cancer, and if left alone could get to the point of no return - but something like you are talking about isn't cancer or it's nothing that if left go would get worse and worse)
However if you can only focus on that and can't enjoy your every day activities then by all means, go and get it out of your mind.   (I usually just keep worrying as I don't like to go to doctors but I see lots of people on here go to get peace of mind.)

So agree with SL. If you can deal with it on your own, much better.

I agree with sl and tinam.  I have been to so many doctors and had so many tests about a prickly sensation that I get in the skin of my legs and they can' t find anything wrong.  So I did all that, and I am still on my own suffering with these horrible sensations.   Going to the doctor will probably just add to your anxiety.
