I'm sure it's Ovarian cancer.
« on: March 10, 2014, 12:47:19 AM »
I haven't been this freaked out since I was obsessed with MS.
I am sure I have ovarian cancer. I've worked it up in my head and now I can't tell what symptoms have been brought on by anxiety and what is "real".

Symptoms:
Bloating
Cramping during ovulation
Cramping on last days of period and a couple of days after
A bit of bright red blood on the 8th day of my last period
Indigestion
Urination urgency
Lower back pain
Side pains

I have a dr's appointment on Tuesday. The thing is that my dr. Never really takes me seriously. And when she does it really scares me and sends me spiralling into my HA.
I haven't googled. Not recently for this. It's not the first time I've ever thought I had ovarian cancer. But it's the worst time. I have a million other symptoms but I don't know which other ones are related.

It would be so great to hear from someone who had similar symptoms and was told they were totally fine.
Thanks. I'm so scared I can hardly focus on anything else.

I've had similar symptoms and been told I was fine.  I actually had ovarian cysts.  The only thing you can do for that is take Tylenol which doesn't really help.  But it wasn't dangerous.  Actually, the symptoms you listed could be totally unrelated and they are all normal occurrences.  I am sure you will be fine.  Try not to worry because it will only make you feel worse.

I had VERY similar symptoms and actually ended up in the ER because of the pain.

It turned out to be an ovarian cyst.

Yep, similar symptoms and totally fine.  I had to convince my Dr to run the CA125 because I have increased risk factors and even with those he didn't think it was necessary.

It's very, very rare.

Thank you all for the replies. They are comforting. However.. Now I'm thinking ok, maybe not ovarian cancer, but it's definitely something bad. I'm looking forward to seeing the dr. Tomorrow.

I also freaked out about OC. Turned out my pain was constipation. It's normal to have "period like" symptoms around ovulation. Including some pain, bloating and blood flow. Your spot of blood may just be a cyst. Check with your doctor for PCOS.

I thought the same thing when I felt that stabbing pain in my side. And then when they did the ultrasound and told me it was a cyst, I freaked out SO much more.

But these cysts are so common Hun. Please let us know how your appointment goes.

Positive energies coming your way.

Cysts are not dangerous.  I have had them off and on for six years.

I just left the doctor's. Guess what.. Diagnosis: stress/anxiety!
She said she couldn't feel or see anything abnormal or worrisome.
She's sending the Pap test to the lab but she said she us sure everything is fine.
I feel better. For now ;)

That's great news! :)

Your mind is very powerful and will actually make you feel symptoms you "think" you have.

A few months ago, I was in the same situation.  I had this constant dull aching pain in my lower abdomen/ovary area.  It would hurt from around ovulation time until my period.  After several months of this, I scared myself that it could be ovarian cancer.  I've read that if you feel pain, it's advanced already, too.  Anyway, my doctor said she wasn't concerned but scheduled an internal u/s along with an external and both came back normal.  After hearing that, instantly the pain vanished.

I'm so happy that your doctor feels everything is fine.  Take a deep breath and relax. :)

I was feeling very relieved.. Until today, when I got a call from my doctor's office!
The secretary left a message, by the time I heard it they were closed.
She said "I want to give you the results". I have never ever had a call back after a Pap test.
So now I'm convinced I have cervical cancer. I've never thought cervical before, because I've never had an abnormal pap.
I think the best thing I could hear would be a yeast infection. Would they call me for that?!
My heart was beating right out of my chest when I listened to the message.

I've had my period every month for twenty years, and I've never had these constant symptoms before.
I'm so nervous. I'm calling the dr at 9am.

If it were something bad they wouldn't give you results over the PHONE!   Oh that's today you are calling - let us know how you made out.
