wondering of GERD causes these feelings...
« on: March 09, 2014, 03:45:59 AM »

Upper to middle back pain, around shoulders, shoulder blades... not too bad, more like a deep warm almost burny ache pain.  Worse when lying down.

Heartburn.... CHRONIC and mild for me, almost like my lungs are burning.  I have the heartburn more often than not it seems.

Kinda like its harder to breathe, burny breath and worse when lying down.

I feel choked up sometimes, like a gnawing pressure in my solar plexus.

I've had lung cancer fears.... had a bunch of tests, blood tests, ultrasound of organs, xray of spine and shoulder, all normal.
Now my doctor is referring me to a gastro doctor because he believes spastic colon or gerd may be the answer.

Otc heartburn meds do not seem to work.

If your GERD is very bad, OTC meds may not work. I've never had a medication completely fix my GERD (I take a mixture of meds and home remedies).

I feel my GERD in my chest, my left side and occasionally my back. When it's very bad I can get shortness of breath and what feels like heart palpitations.  You should follow up with the gastro doc.
