Do others feel they get enough replies?
« on: March 08, 2014, 01:35:06 PM »
I always try to reply others, because I know how much every reply can help.  For each post I make, I reply to at least 10 other posts.  And in periods when my HA is not raging I still come here once in a while to see if I can help someone.  But I always feel that I get very few replies to my worries.  Am I the only one that gets a little dissapointed or are 1-2 replies just the norm and am I expecting to much:)

Depends on what the problem is.

For example, I reply as much as I can on ALS issues, stomach things or other diseases I thought I had. Or I reply when I see rationally that something just isn't true, and I can without any knowledge say, you are fine.

For the same reason, I rarely respond to heart related topics, since I never had worries about my heart.

Maybe you had problem that people just didn't know much about so they couldn't reply. Also, have you answered to their posts?

My advice would be just to bump the topic with the problem you have, if it still bothers you. Don't be shy.  :winking0008:

It depends on the problem. I don't comment in things I don't relate too, such as heart fears, ALS, MS, and that type stuff. Lymphoma, ovarian cancer, brain tumor issues and other things I've gone through the worries of, I will try and reply. I'm going to try and reply more because I know I so appreciate people responding to me.

I comment a lot on here as I have my computer on all the time and just pop on here throughout the day to check things on email and this board.   I will reply to things I know about, but many times people will ask questions and I'll think, "Hmmm, I have no idea" in that case I don't reply.   Or topics that I know nothing about - like someone was asking questions about a certain medication.  I only take Xanax as needed so any medication questions I know nothing about.  And a post right before this asked if cancer would show up in blood work.  I have NO idea.  So I think if you see X amount of views and no answer, no one really has anything of significance to add.  I find that if I post a "does this ever happen to anyone?"  I get 0 replies.  I just figure, "Oh no!  It never happens to anyone, I must be a REAL nut case!"  And then I move on...

I think it is the luck of the draw and it depends on the top discussed.

I think it's mostly luck.  I can only respond to topics that deal with stuff I've experienced or procedures I've had done, which compared to others on this board might be limited.  Even if I only get a few replies they are always very helpful and I'm appreciative for them.
