I practically live in MRI machines anymore! The contrast doesn't hurt per se, but you can feel an all body "warmness" sometimes and it goes away pretty quick. It's not scary, just weird. You may not even feel it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I have noticed that if I ask for mild sedation prior to the procedure (Xanax usually) that I don't even notice the IV. I just fall asleep in the tube!! You will be fine, but if you have fears ask for sedation and take a nap. Best of luck on your results and keep us posted!
