L hand/wrist keeps going to sleep
« on: March 03, 2014, 05:26:21 PM »
Hi all!!  :action-smiley-065: Just a quick question, any reason why my hand/wrist has
pins N needles, like that sensation you get when your leg falls asleep,  it's been happening
for 10 days now, really weird , could it be a circulation problem, cutting it off?

have you been doing something that you aren't used to?  (ie: shoveling snow)

Sounds like carpal tunnel or tendonitis to me.  I have both and so long as I avoid too much typing or repetitive motions (like shoveling snow) it stays well under control.  If I do too much with my hands I get the tinglies as well...annoying but nothing i can't deal with.  When I had a bad flare up a few years ago I slept with wrist braces on for about 3 months and that worked wonders. If your circulation was cut off your hands would be cold and blue, not tingly. Hang in there!

it seems a little better today, so not sure if it was a injury? there was never any pain , and it's mostly the pinky
and fourth finger, , not the palm or thumb, like Carpel tunnel would Suggest? who knows lol

Pinky and fourth finger is more indicative of Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, a repetitive stress injury of the ulnar nerve that runs from the elbow to the pinky. (I've been researching that a lot lately as I've been having problems since shoveling so much snow) - my wrist also is cracking.
