Is Mad Cow Disease crazy to worry about?
« on: March 02, 2014, 01:17:06 AM »
I live in the USA but I am often very worried about mad cow disease.  It's the main reason I stopped eating beef (I never ate it that often anyway).  Every now and then I will be at a friend's house for dinner and beef is the only option so I figure, what the heck.  But then inevitably I freak out that I could have gotten mad cow.  But then I remember that there's never been a confirmed human case from eating US beef.

Is this a totally crazy thing to worry about?  I'm at the point where I don't want my family to eat beef either.

No worries; Mad Cow disease should be the least of your concerns.

"Crazy" is a harsh word but I would say that in terms of dangers to your health and well being, Mad Cow disease should be so far down on your list of worries that you never even think of it.
