Did it happen suddenly?  How big is it?  Could you have poked your eye?

It's not that big and also not that small if that makes sense. I don't know how long it's been there for. I know I didn't poke my eye I would've remembered.

2 more questions  :happy0151:

How old are you? (let's say over 60)
If you aren't over 60, is the gray spot a little raised or is it flat?

OK that leaves out the "old age" spot on the eye then!  LOL!
It also leaves out the other thing I was thinking it was...   well, I don't know what it would be, but I can't see it being anything serious!  I think we'd have heard of something like that if it were something bad.  Good thing with that though you can just go to an eyedoctor and with a quick look can TELL you what it is.  It isn't like you have to have all kinds of invasive, expensive tests.

I understand what you're saying. Just never experienced anything like this. Well I've had hypochondria for a while now but I've never really been worried about my eyes. It's always so scary and overwhelming finding something new on your body you've never seen before. And it's easy to quickly think it's something serious rather then it being just something minor. Looking at my eye so more I noticed another greyish dot this time on the top of my eyeball so I thought it would be normal now that I see 2 but now I quickly thought "what if it's spreading?". I constantly allow myself to diagnose everything I find on my body and basically flip out. I lay there in my bed thinking of my death and how this will play out. I'm scared to even talk to anyone about it because it just makes me more terrified of the subject then I actually am.

Well, I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you with almost certainty what it isn't and that would be cancer...  I am saying that because the doctor found a discoloration on my retina in 2002 (also my dad's a few years ago) and he checked it periodically and was always happy that it was FLAT.  So I would think anything sinister on your eyeball would be raised.  And even that isn't sinister because I was thinking maybe you had (I can't spell this, so I'll sound it out!): Ping -you- lick- you - lie, that's raised but totally benign.
I totally understand the what if thinking.  It just doesn't stop.  Just recently I had 4 things at the same time (colon cancer, kidney failure, MS and a brain tumor) when I stop to think about it, that is insanity!  But then my mind goes to, "Well of course I can't have all 4, but I MUST have ONE of them!  But which one??"   It's a never ending cycle.
You know what does help though.  You think of what you are worried about (any symptoms, maybe your eye spot) and ask yourself, "Would a NORMAL person even notice this?"  many times that is answered with a resounding, "No!"

I have those - it's like a freckle in your eye believe it or not.  If you are due for an eye appointment let your ophtalmologist know but they are common.  There are some that are bad but they are super rare and bigger.

Thanks for all the replies. It helps a lot. Opening up about this is extremely hard to do, I couldn't even do it with my own parents.
