Is no news good news??
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:29:46 AM »
My HA is acting up really bad today. I had blood tests done last wednesday and i was told i should have results in a "couple" days... and now its been 4 and still nothing. So is no news good news? Does this mean they aren't worried enough to get to me right away, or is my doctor consulting with a specialist to decide exactly what i'll die from??? AAAHHH. The thoughts that are going through my head are horrendous. I was able to get through the weekend ok, but i  worried all day yesterday and cant stop worrying today. While writing this my phone rang and it was a doctor's #... my heart skipped a beat. It was not my test results tho... just confirmation on my appt with my psychiatrist tomorrow. Maybe she will have some advice for me. I want to be healthy and dont know how to handle the "no news" deal. End rant. :(

Was this just some routine blood work?  Or did you have it done for a specific reason?   Usually with routine they never call (unless of course they'd find something), and then they just wait until your next visit to "discuss" it.  If it was for a particular issue, they should call either way, but many times they DON'T if there is nothing wrong.   I went for a pap once due to some itching and discharge that was going on for 3 months, I was HOPING there was an infection so it would go away already - they never called.  I finally called them after 2 weeks and they just said, "Everything was fine"   So the no news is good news is normally the way it goes.  I'd wait 2 weeks and then call (the longer you wait the more relaxed you'll become because that's another day they didn't call...)
