has anyone tried hypnotherapy
« on: February 21, 2014, 03:19:43 PM »
I've been looking into trying hypnosis and was wondering if anyone has tried it and it worked for them. I've tried nlp and cbt but not really had great success.

I went to 2 supposed hypnotherapists in the 1980's but one was more interested in reading the responses to a single's ad I placed (I didn't oblige him) and he never hypnotized me.  The other one saw clients in her home so about 10 minutes before my session was up I'd hear her door bell ring.  I complained about it and her lame response was -- I still think good work is being done. Then I saw another one also in the 80's, but the antidepressant I was on made me so sleepy that I'd drift off instead of getting hypnotized.   I've been seeing a therapist for awhile who also does hypnosis but I haven't tried that with her.  But I probably will because even with being on meds I still need help with depressed moods and help with all the aches and pains that come with getting older.  I'll report back on how it goes.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked on the web and the few I've looked at charge 75 for 60 minutes at there office. As I suffer badly from agoraphobia both therapists offer the same service via ***** for the same cost as getting there. I've no idea how you could b e helped over the internet in that way.

I did 5 sessions of hypnosis with good results. Not only is hypnotherapy effective, but it is easy, quick and enjoyable.
