update...went to the dr for my headaches
« on: February 21, 2014, 02:37:01 PM »
Ok, so I had a fainting spell last week. Went to the ER and the Dr said it was related to percocet that in was taking and to stop the med. Since then I've had no fainting spells...but a dull headache across my forehead for the last 4-5 days......doesnt get worse or better.

I went to the Dr and expressed my concern today and she said maybe its sinuses and to take some nose spray. Meanwhile I don't believe her and I think its the starting of a brain tumor! Can anyone relate to this? A head ache for 4-5 days? I'm on an array of meds so maybe that could be contributing to the.jeadache??? Im about to go to the ER and demand a head scan since my Dr didn't think I need one!!!! Help!!!!!

Hey, I have had headaches for a few days before... nothing to worry about. So many things can cause them; stress, the weather, medications, dehydration, sinus issues, eye strain, neck problems, fatigue, etc.

I had an MRI of my brain because of frequent headaches and ocular migraines, and it came back normal. I wouldn't worry about it, because there are so many other symptoms of a brain tumor besides headaches. People with brain tumors don't always get them, anyway.

Thanks alot Emily. I'm also under a tremendous amount of stress too so I'm sure that's not helping. I'm still tempted to go to the ER and get a head scan!

I definitely notice that I get headaches when I am under stress. Also, they seem to worsen when I focus on them. I wouldn't rush to get a scan unless you develop neurological symptoms.

I have convinced myself of the same thing. I don't even believe my neurologist or my MRI, but that's how hypochondria works, I guess. That's what we have to keep reminding ourselves. We take the littlest symptoms and blow them out of proportion, linking them to some horrible illness.
