This is my first post so I'll add a little introduction to it. My name's Chelsea, I'm a sophomore in college and I've had anxiety and panic attacks since I was little. Around the time I was 12 I was put onto Sertraline, and was upped to 100mg when I was 16. It's always worked really well for me, but I just have one concern.
I have a really bad habit of taking the medicine for a while, and then feeling good and forgetting to take it and just stopping. I don't get any withdrawal symptoms or anything when I do it, which just makes it even harder to remember that I'm forgetting.
But when I finally do start up again, I get bad side effects for a few days while it gets back into my system.
I know it's not good, but I've repeated this cycle multiple times because I'm just so freaking forgetful.
Now, my question. I just started up again today on my 100mg, on top of starting a z-pack for a cold/infection thing. Now, antibiotics are always known for giving me really bad diarrhea every time, it's unavoidable. But I took the z-pack around 1 and then my Sertraline around 2ish. Around 4 I suddenly got a really upset stomach and had to run to the bathroom for a while. I was jittery, anxious, and had a panic attack - the worst one I've had in a while.
I know some of the stomach issue was from my z-pack but I made the mistake of letting the idea of Serotonin Syndrome get into my head and now I can't stop worrying that from starting and stopping so much I'm giving myself SS from restarting - does anyone know if this is even a thing or if I'm just being ridiculous with my anxiety?
