Kidney Failure Or Anxiety
« on: February 19, 2014, 10:29:56 AM »
I'm back again with yet another set of symptoms, this time its nausea ( which i seem to only notice or gets worse when i think about it ) and foamy urine ( i can hear it "fizzing" but it goes away in a few secs) i've learnt this could just be dehydration as i havent been drinking much water or it could just be standing and urinating. i dont have any back pains, weakness, smelly or dark urine, swelling, dizziness, metallic taste in my mouth or any pain/discomfort when urinating. I'm 18 and i've had a full metabolism blood panel test a month ago and everything came back normal except that i had iron deficiency anemia. i've been taking iron supplements for it for about two weeks and i've heard too much iron can cause kidney failure but i dont think that can happen in someone with anemia.

edit - i forgot to mention i've also had a diet high in meat recently, like liver and beerf for the anemia

I've seen someone in the hospital who had kidney failure. She was in terrible pain and had dark urine.  I don't think you have kidney failure if no pain, no vomiting, no fever.
The nausea is probably from worrying or maybe not eating enough.

Supplements often mess with my urinary tract, especially if you're taking a lot of a new one.  Definitely try to drink more water.

Kidney failure is pretty rare for someone you're age... well, ok, it's unheard of. Sounds like you need to drink more water. When dr's say 8 glasses a day, they mean it.

The nausea can also be from the iron supplements.  They can be really tough on your stomach and whole gi tract - nausea, reflux, heartburn, constipation.  There are different types of iron supplements so you could talk to your doctor about trying a different one.   The extended release varieties can be gentler on your system.
