Finally went to the doctor.
« on: February 18, 2014, 12:52:34 PM »
I went to a new OBGYN for stomach pain that I've been having for over a year. My old OB thought it was endometriosis, but did no further testing. I've been blaming it in my mirena too. My new OB thinks that it may have something to do with my gallbladder! Ugh, yay! -_- She did blood work today (which I haven't had in over a year) and ordered for me to have an ultrasound on Thursday. I'm so happy that I'm finally getting it done, but SO nervous that they'll find something on the ultrasound or in my blood work. I should know by the end of this week how the blood work is, and I'll know for sure Thursday about ultrasound. Wish me luck!!

Best of luck to you, and try to stay calm during this waiting period.  Post back when you know more.   :action-smiley-065:

Hang in there!  Don't forget that the ultrasound techs can't really give you a diagnosis, they pass it on to the doctors, so try not to freak if they're not saying much.

I go straight to my doctor afterwards! So at least I get the results right after it's done! I hate that we always think the worst! 5 years ago I would be going at this like it was nothing!

That's nice, much better than waiting a week!  Like I said, hang in there.   :action-smiley-065:

Oh, that's good that you will get the results right away.  I had to wait 7-10 days for my u/s results.

I'm sure everything will come back just fine.  I had all sorts of pains in my abdomen for months and finally went to have a few ultrasounds done.  Everything came back completely normal after I had self diagnosed myself with ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, intestinal blockage, you name it.  Oddly, after I got the news that things were normal, the pains went away.

Our minds are very powerful.

Post back with your results.  Everything will be fine. :)

Just got back. Ultrasound revealed that I have polycystic ovarion syndrome, which can be treated or controlled with birth control pills. I can live with that! All of my blood work came back perfect too! I was worried about my WBC being high due to cancer or something. I feel so much better now! Thank you everyone!!

My wife deals with that.  It messes with hormones, so find a doctor that specializes in that field.  It has helped her tons.

I have pcos also. Carb specific dieting and metformin has been really helpful in treatment. Also anxiety is a symptom of pcos.

I can feel the relief in your post. :happy0151:

I'm so happy that it wasn't anything serious.  Now you can put that out of your mind.
