Possible alcohol withdrawal?
« on: February 17, 2014, 09:12:05 PM »
I'm so scared right now. I'm not sure if this is due to plain old anxiety or alcohol withdrawal. I read you can die from it or have a seizure and I'm freaking out so bad. I am scared that it could happen any moment now! I drank too much last weekend, every night (friday, saturday, and sunday), to excess and hope I'll be ok. I went to school, too. I was able to eat food and drink plenty of water. The only symptom I really have is anxiety but it's scaring me! But I'm scared I'm having alcohol withdrawal. Am I? I have no desire to drink anymore but don't want something bad to happen! Help... :traurig001:

I know it is probably not of much use now, but for future reference perhaps; there is no way you're having serious alcohol withdrawals from three days of drinking :-) It takes weeks or months.

I have a 10 year background of drinking heavily. I would like to add to your post that alcohol is the primary reason I have had issues with Anxiety. I stopped drinking in April of this year and have been on Celexa since June. Celexa has made a huge improvement to my life and my Anxiety has been to a minimum since I have been on it. I also have Clonazepam that I take once per week to keep me calm and make the dizziness go away.

I don't know how long the dizziness from alcoholism will last but I hope that one day I can be free from taking any meds.
