Can anxiety produce actual physician pain
« on: February 16, 2014, 01:50:45 PM »
I'm going out of my mind convinced I have lymphoma because I feel pain in the nodes after alcohol , I expect the pain and get nervous when I go out now can anxiety really produce this ? The nodes are not swollen I don't think ?

It's been two years of this and clear bloods but I'm still so apprehensive it's ruining my life .

Please help if you can

After 2 years, it's safe to say that you'd surely have some advancement of symptoms if it were something serious.

I have experienced symptoms of illnesses I thought I had, so for myself, I can confirm that your mind can do this.  And if you're Googling, it will happen even more.  :sick0002:

I tend to panic when I dont feel well, or when I have a new symptom. I tend to think its something life threatening and terrible.  I dwell and focus on whatever it is im feeling. I definitely think our minds can play tricks on us. Im learning that now.

Yep, have been there, definitely.
And yes, I will get anxious, too if it's a new thing I've never had before. I think pretty much all of us here tend to. That's why we all can usually help one another.

Many of us get concerned if we have new, persistent or bothersome symptoms.

Oh ABSOLUTELY!!   I never had it proved to me like I had it proved in 2005!  I began in November 2004 with these pressure pains in my stomach.  Sometimes they'd be worse than other times, it was very annoying and upsetting, I kept thinking it would go away, but month after month there it was, like someone taking their fist and holding it real hard right under my breast bone, I tried stomach pills and everything else and nothing worked - FINALLY in December 2005 (THIRTEEN months later) I went to a gastro doctor, had an endoscopy...   when he told me everything was FINE that pain went away - the same day!  And it never came back.  My attentions shifted away from my stomach after I knew nothing was wrong and that was it.
