*** Creating private, password-protected albums ***The way the gallery script is designed, you must first have a public album before you can create any private ones. Presumably, this is so that at least one album associated with your name will be visible on the categories page (ie; "Anxiety Zone Member Galleries"). So, if you
already have a public album, simply follow the instructions below. Public albums are created the same way as private ones except you don't assign a password to them.
To create a private, password-protected album simply go to the gallery and click on "Create/order my albums" and then below the album display box, click on "New". You will see "New Album" displayed in the text box at the bottom (change this to whatever you want to call your new album). Click on "Apply Modifications". A dialogue box will appear asking; "Are you sure you want to make these modifications?" (click "OK" if you are sure). A new page will appear. Click "Continue". Click on "Modify My albums". From the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the page, select the album you just created. choose the settings you want for your new album but When you get to "Album can be viewed by" select "Only me". Choose an album password and password hint. The password hint can be anything you want (ie; brownfox, roadtoad, etc). When you are finished, click on "Update album". Now, from the menu on the left, click on "Upload file". Upload your files and click "Continue". On the next page, click "Continue" again. From the drop-down menu, select the private album you created earlier and then fill in the information on the preceding pages (ie; file titles, file descriptions, file keywords, etc). When finished, you will see "The previous file was placed successfully" and "You have successfully placed all the files". Click "Continue". Now you are back at the main page.
To test your new private album,
log out and (
while remaining logged out) then at the top of the page, click on "Anxiety Zone Member Galleries". Click on the thumbnail image containing your galleries. You should now see a gray image with the word "Private" on it. Click on it. Enter the password you assigned to your private album (your "hint", if you used one, will already be displayed). This password is what you will give to people (outside of Anxiety Zone) whom you want to be able to view the content of your private album(s). Your family, friends and yourself do not even have to be logged in or have an Anxiety Zone account in order to view your private album(s) just as long as they have the password you provide them.
Here's a private album I created earlier. To view the contents, first
log out and (
while remaining logged out) visit the gallery. Once there, click on "Anxiety Zone Member Galleries". Click on the "demogallery" thumbnail. Click "My PRIVATE Nature Photos" and use the password "private".
NOTE: Making your gallery private does not prevent other registered members of Anxiety Zone from viewing the contents of your private albums...only the general public. This means that the gray "Private" image will not be visible to registered members of Anxiety Zone.
I hope this helps
