A bit TMI- GI Issues Are Worrying Me
« on: February 15, 2014, 12:58:41 PM »
I've been having stomach issues for two days. After eating, for whatever reason, I become bloated and severely constipated. I can't really make a BM or pass gas. It feels better after waking up but I wake up cold and shivering, even in a warm room with heat on. The bloating causes pain, nausea, belching, and bile reflux. I felt bad upper stomach pain with the bloating and my backside that felt like lightning, especially when trying to use the restroom that went away. The stomach issues feel a lot better when I wake up and I feel normal and it feels a little better when I walk. I fear that it's either A: AAA or b: appendicitis. My mom's telling me to take milk of magnesia and/or Tylenol to help the constipation/pain goes away but I'm afraid I'll use the restroom too much if I take the milk of magnesia. :(

I still feel like my body temp is low, but I can't find my thermometer to save my life. :traurig001: Can anyone else relate?

At your old age of 16, the odds of you having a serious medical issue are extremely remote.
You probably either have a virus or just a stomach upset form stress or something you ate.
If you had appendicitis, you would be in extreme pain and probably would need to go to the ER.

My mom is going through a stomach virus, if it is worth mentioning.

My body temp is down to 95.5 F, for what it's worth. :( Very troubling.

If your symptoms don't improve, go to doctor.

I don't think it's anything serious.

Why are you afraid to eat?

If you have stomach issues, it a lot of rice, potatoes, soup, you can eat boiled chicken meat, bananas...and hydrate!

Everytime I eat something, I get nauseous and bloated. I can't use the restroom without straining really hard. :/

You have constipation...Drink lots of water, eat fiber and check with your pharmacist if you can take something for constipation.

If you don't see improvement see a doctor, but I don't think it's anything serious.

Trying to drink water and it is helping slightly. And a protein drink. I am tired but I haven't eaten much today.

You sound like you have your mom's stomach virus. When I get stomach viruses, sometimes I'm burning hot while shivering. Drink lots of fluids. (That will help with the constipation and if you get diarrhea.) Visit the doctor if it doesn't get better after a few days.

Thank you guys. Trying to pass gas and use the restroom is painful for me at times. I'm frightened about having too low potassium, which can cause some of these symptoms. I baught 4 bananas earlier, and I think I had a panic attack because I stood out there and almost fell to the ground from feeling faint, the ground was moving to me and my legs felt weak.

Reviving due to new issues. I'm bloated as all hell, with poking stomach pain on the left side of my belly button. :( Added to this, my urination habits are being weird....with little to no urge to urinate, even after drinking a lot. It usually takes me having to sleep before having an urge to urinate. I have developed a dry cough for no apparent reason, although I hear this could be stomach related. I'm quite nervous about it, what if it's still a heart issue? Recently, my appetite's been very low and I feel like I have to force myself to eat sometimes. I'm also getting right flank pain on occasion.
