Help potassium
« on: February 14, 2014, 09:48:40 PM »
So I think I'm in the middle of an anxiety attack but who knows. About two weeks ago I went to the er for anxiety and they said my potassium was low. Before then I noticed my legs and arms have been really weak. And my legs have been shaky. Some days I don't notice it as bad. But today it was terrible. I was miserable at work all day. And I'm freaking out that was potassium is maybe dangerously low. My chest is heavy and I'm having trouble breathing. I feel like I'm going to pass out. I just feel horrible. I did make A dr appointment for Monday. I feel like
Going to die before then. This is so scary. My legs shouldn't be this weak and shaky :( any one else with potassium issues

What did they tell you to do in the ER?

In the meantime eat a lot of bananas, potatoes and take potassium supplements.

If your pottasium was to low they would have kept you in and put you on a drip as this happened to my mum she was in a few days and wouldn't let her go home till it was above a certain level so cant imagine yours been extremely low x

I second what rachael t said - except it was my Grandmother.  That's the standard procedure.  Yours may have been a tiny bit low that a few pills will resolve.

If they told you to contact your doc within 3-5 days why did you wait 2 weeks before even calling them?
