is it a blurry vision?
« on: February 14, 2014, 07:28:37 PM »
Ever since my  big toe started tingling MS fear has started crawling in again slpwly.

Anyway, for the past 2 weeks or so, I have notices that when I look distant words, like subtitle for tv 3-4 meters distant, I see like a small reflection of the word on top of it. When I get close 1m or so, I don't see it. Also whwn I look at those shinny billboards I see also reflection of the words.

I have no idea was it always like that and I started noticing it now, or I have blurry vision for some medical reasons.

Any ideas?

I get this. I think my opthamologist called them 'arberations' or something. It basically just means that your corneas aren't completely smooth and the light reflecting off can cause a sort of mild 'doubling'. I find it is worse when I'm looking at white text on a black background.

He told me its fairly common but the size of the 'aberration' can vary quite a bit.

It's something that even today's glasses can't fully correct.

If it IS that, you've probably always had it but just never noticed before :)

I have this lol. It's what I always post about. It was worst before I had lasik so it was probably astigmatism. I was nearsighted with astigmatism and without my glasses I could see vertical double even when I'm starting at someone's face from a distance like I saw 4 eyes and 2 noses, 2 lips.

Now after lasik (I got it in September) I don't see double.

Except at night sometimes when I'm starting at an LED lighting like store signs when I'm driving and red lights. When I get closer it goes away or when I squint. I did the pinhole test and it went away.

Tell me more about your issue. When  you squint does it go away?

I'm trying to figure out what it is myself. Maybe I need to go in for another correction for lasik. I see 20/15 though =)

I will probably go to ophthalmologist on Monday to check my eyes and then I will write what it is.

Anxious about what?  ;D

Can't really determine, I never had eye issues so all descriptions, even mine are pretty vague. I think I am little nearsighted so that is causing issues. Too much time in front of computer is taking its toll kind of...

Have you ever had your eyes tested by an optometrist to see if you need glasses? I only got mine checked when I started working full time with computers and sure enough, needed to get a pair. :)

It's worth checking if it's worrying you :)

Never had my eyes checked because I had perfect vision. But during last year I was working on a computer a lot and was really straining my eyes which can cause nearsightedness so, it's probably that.

I am not anxious any more since I am afraid of optical neuritis (because of MS of course) and these are according to ppl not symptoms of it. So, nearsighted or not, it's not a big deal. :)

Yeah it absolutely doesn't sound like optic neuritis.

My opthamologist is reslly nice and he told me when people go in with optic neuritis the pain is so bad they're practically throwing up.

Also you have a lot of trouble seeing red apparently.

Let us know how you go :)
