Heart flip flopping.
« on: February 09, 2014, 11:59:09 PM »
I constantly get this feeling of my heart flip flopping in my chest. Every Dr gives me a different diagnoses for it. One say anxiety another says gerds. I just want to know how to stop it. I can always tell when it's going to happen because I get a sinking feeling in my chest and my throat feels tight. It happens more when I lay down or I'm setting with tight pants on. I just want to know my heart is ok. Can anybody else relate to this at all?

There palps. Don't worry hun. Tons of people get them. People with anxiety just are more alert with their bodies and can tell when the happen. I get them all the time. If the dr took a look at you and didn't see a problem then I wouldn't stress over it which is hard when we have anxiety lol.  Good luck :)

I agree, it does kinda sound like heart palpitations. I had a pretty good case of them tonight, it was a sickening feeling of increased heart rate, a warm/burning feeling in my chest, mild pain, and indigestion (more than likely, heartburn and anxiety). It truly does feel far worse than what it actually is. Just another effect of anxiety, tension, and stress on the body.

But as always, with chest pain and anything heart related, it's best to get the opinion of a dr, which you did. Don't hesitate to see a different dr if it gets worse or increases in frequency.

I've been getting those things for 25 years!  Started at age 30.   And for me it's both GERD and anxiety because if I shovel snow on an empty stomach OR if I take Rolaids before shoveling I am fine, but if I go out there just "anytime" I feel heartburn and those crazy heart palps start up.  At 30 I once got them 4 hours straight 2 times a minute!  (that's when I went to a doctor and he told me)

Be careful shoveling snow.
