Can muscle knots cause muscle twitching?
« on: February 09, 2014, 09:07:31 PM »
About a couple months ago I began working as a cashier. I wasn't wearing good shoes and I started to develop leg and lower back pain from standing on a hard surface for 5 to 6 hours of the day. I was wondering if standing for prolonged periods of time in a single position could cause muscle knots to form? I've been having some muscle spasms in my lower back and lower leg recently and I need to know if it's related to my job (since they only started after working).

As many of you know I've been stricken with the fear of developing ALS and it has consumed my life to the point where I can barely function anymore. I'm only 21 years old, what are the chances of me even having the disease and could my job of standing cause these spontaneous twitches to happen. I thought the twitching came much later on after the disease sets in). Can muscle knots or this prolonged standing cause muscle twitches?

They've been like on and off ever since I started this job but they've never stopped completely. Should I try using a foam roller or something and going over my body to see if this makes a difference?

Okay good to know, thanks for replying. You don't think it's ALS because the twitching is in both legs and my lower back, shoulders, etc?

I just got done playing a game of floor hockey and I did a lot of running. Now my legs are twitching a lot, but they usually calm down later on. Because both legs are twitching and it's not just in one, do you think this could be related to muscle fatigue/knots?

I have them in my back, mainly on the left scapula, but if I dig deep I have tender areas all over my back but the left one tingles. I really afraid it could mean lung can ... :(

I started getting this muscle aches and twitches once I started working at Kmart and standing in one place for long periods of time. Im just so scared this is the beginning of ALS but I'm only 21 and apparently this doesn't present with twitching?
