Brain tumour worries, help me please?!
« on: February 09, 2014, 12:04:49 PM »
I have had ongoing worrying symptoms since august 2011. It started with tingling in my left hand, left side of my face and left foot and a constant headache. In October 2011 I had a CT scan without contrast which was normal. I felt ok for most of 2012 and then at the start of 2013 I started with headaches on the right hand side of my forehead (constant), and the tingling in my left foot came back. The doctor gave me amitriptyline which isn't helping and has refered me to a neurologist. In he past month I have been feeling very dizzy too, the headache is worse and I have a stiff neck. My friends mum had similar symptoms and she had a brain tumour. I have had my eyes tested which the option said was perfect and I have had a basic exam (walk in a straight line, follow my finger) which was all ok too. This is taking over my life and I am just so convinced / scared that this must be a brain tumour as I just feel so ill all the time, dizzy, sick, headache, tingling, stiff nick. nausea all the time.
do you think this is a brain tumour?
I am 25

The fact that your friend's mother had brain tumor, and that you know her symptoms make it very likely it's all anxiety. Not even gonna mention the fact that you had neurological exam which you passed...

I've known she had a brain tumour for a long time but she only told me what her symptoms were the other day, she had a pain in her foot the opposite side to her tumour, and I have tingling in my foot the opposite side to where my headache is x x x

I have tingling in only one leg without headache...Tingling is caused by anxiety. She had pain, you have tingling, they are not the same. Even if you had pain it wouldn't mean much.

Stiff neck points to very high tension which could also produce headache.

I have had ongoing worrying symptoms since august 2011. It started with tingling in my left hand, left side of my face and left foot and a constant headache.

You had tingling since 2011. It can't be caused by tumor since now it's 2014 and you would know if you had it or not.

You are young for brain tumor, so chances are very low.

The list goes on...

How long have you had the tingling for?
I had the headache long before I started getting the stiff neck :( the stiff neck started just after the dizziness (at the beginning of this year)
I hope that you are right

These are also symptoms of TMJ as well.
TMJ is not a brain tumor.
It is a disorder with the jaw that usually comes about because of anxiety.
The tingling in the extremities can be part of it and they can also because by tender or trigger points of the muscles.

Youve had testing and everything is fine! I'm sure if they were concerned they would automatically put you through further testing.
I went through the brain tumour scare and was convinced I was becoming off balance, the stress and anxiety can also cause the constant headaches and the feeling of tingeling!
Most of your symptoms are probably due to you putting your body under stress from all the worrying x
