Pounding feeling in the back of head?
« on: February 09, 2014, 01:49:17 AM »
Hello again everyone,

I have been experiencing this weird symptom lately. I have been having a pounding sensation , feels like ,y heart beat, at the back of my head, neck, temples, chest or back sometimes. It is at different spots each times, but lately it seems to be affecting my head more.

Of course I made the mistake and googled(do not do it) and found all kinds of things that freaked me out, some of which I never heard before.

Anyone else ever had that? Sometimes it feels like a skipped forceful beat, even though it might not be that either.

Any answers would be much appreciated
John

Every once in a while I'll feel something similar, it's usually in one of my more anxiety-prone moments and I have strong tension built up at the same time. Sometimes the muscles are so tight that if I turn my head fast enough (like to look at someone calling my name), it'll have a strong pull that goes to the top of my head. Almost feels like something pulling on my brain itself, such a strange and scary feeling. I try to avoid letting this happen by letting my neck and shoulders go slack and relaxing that part of my body as much as possible.

I think it kinda is something like that. It feels really strong and sometimes if I kinda switch positions I feel it going away from one spot but going to another. I read about hypertension but when I go to the doctor my blood pressure is 110/74. Sometimes I feel it on my stomach, sometimes on my chest: front neck and sometimes on the back of my neck and/or head. It is driving me crazy, I also read it might be bounding pulse, but I cannot feel it anywhere else except those spots and my back sometimes. I am worrying so much about everything and don't know what to do about it. I have been wearing an event monitor and sometimes when it happens in a row, the monitor will record something... Not sure what it records because I have to wait for the monitor to be returned.,.

Thank you so much for your responces.

I was wondering, is it possible that it might be caused by pinched nerves or tense muscles also? My whole upper body has been tense for some months now, and I know that I have a disc buldge at c5-6 since sometime ago.

Thank you,
John

Like just now, I had a pounding feeling and it caused me to get a sharp chest pain for a second. My monitor went off and it recorded whatever that might have been(I think, not sure because after it happened, I started recording myself).

I am so sick of all that, I am not sure on whaty might be and I fear for the worst. Anyone has ever had those feelings?

You describe, pounding, like feeling of heart beat through your body or pounding pain, pounding is probably not pinched nerve, but pounding pain could be...

Well, it feels like my heart pounds, in different parts of the body. Sometimes I feel like the pounding is located in the back of my neck, sometimes when it pounds it is located on my head and sometimes my heart will pound and I will feel it on my back. The last pounding that I described was like a really forceful, very strong beat, that for a second gave me a sharp chest pain.

I am not sure what is going on, I have been to so many doctors and had so many heart tests that I am not sure what else to do.

I had 3 chest x-rays, 10 blood works done, ct of chest, stress test(I am having another one on wednesday), echo, 15-20 ekg's, a holter monitor and now I have a 30 day event monitor. Those are tests that I have done in the past year....
