Hi, I've had GAD for 43 years.  At 5 years old I worried I would miss the school bus to kindergarden.  At 6 I had horrible stomach cramps when my parents went away for several days and left me with a relative.  I am a professional, have a master's in psychology actually, but can't help my own anxiety.  I worry about my  cats, worry about my wife's safety, worry about the weather...It has gotten worse in the last year, and I now admit I have a problem that I can't deal with myself.  I need help.

Sounds like a bit of seperation anxiety with the parents. It's amazing how there are so many events in life that will trigger anxiety and uncomfort later on down the path of life. That is awesome that you have a masters in Psychology. I'm only 22, but I"m going to college and I'm majoring in Biology. I plan on going to the University of Washington after the four years and pursue Pathology.

Once you get comfortable reading other peoples posts I bet you will have some great points to give.

Are you currently involved in therapy and/or taking anything for this Anxiety? Feel free to share whatever you feel comfortable sharing, sometimes talking things out is a great stress relief, nobody deserves to be tied down with this.

Thinking about it and keeping it internal can have it's negativities.

I wish you the best and hope to hear more.

Welcome to the board. :action-smiley-065:

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you as a member. Here you are with like minded people. People who understand. As we all suffer from something or other. So feel free to ask any questions. Our members are always willing to help others out. Good chatroom too. 3 posts to enter the room.

Find the correct section of the forum that suits your condition and create a new topic on it. This is just a welcome section. Never really get the same amount of help in this section as you would on the other sections of the forums. So whatever one suits the questions you are asking. Get much better answers.
All users of the chatroom must be 18 years old or over. The room is off limits to anybody under the age of 18.

Welcome. I'm also in the medical field; I'm a family practice physician assistant. I see patients in the office fairly often for anxiety; but like yourself defintiely struggle every day with my own anxiety.
