« on: February 08, 2014, 05:16:22 PM »
It feels tender and hurts. Anyone ever had this hap[pen to them?......Normally when I get a cold it doesn't hurt, but my dad gave everyone a cold and I had been taking grapefruit seed extract to keep from getting full blown cold with mucus, cough, ect....the only I have been getting is an itchy throat in the morning but my lymph node hurts..Is this normal?

Im so sorry no one responded to you. :( Yes that happens to me also and I get freaked out. Your lymph nodes can swell and get a little tender when you are fighting something off such as flu foreign invaders. I just went through that and of course was also freaked out as I am in the throws of a pretty bad HA stint at the moment. I got the flu and a bad one on 1/12. Fever was as high as 103.3 for three days. Of course I thought I was going to die. Then I felt the nodes. Opened a whole new can of worms. All of my docs have said it is normal and it can take up to 3 weeks for them to settle. If they dont? Get them checked or rechecked. The most important thing? Easier said than done is to not monkey around with them. Stop feeling for them and rubbing them and touching them. That stimulation alone can cause them to swell abnormally. Leave them alone for 10 days without touching them once then feel and if still tender and swollen see your GP. Youre gonna be good!  :action-smiley-065:

Yup, every time you have a minor infection or whatever, the lymph nodes will get bigger, feel tender and all. It's perfectly normal :) and makes sense since your dad was sick. Your body is probably fighting off his cold. And when i get a cold, they get very swollen and they feel very tender also. They can also stay like that a bit after the cold is gone.
