Sore In Mouth Again
« on: February 06, 2014, 12:54:22 PM »
I went and saw a dentist about a sore on the roof of my mouth that I have had since Monday and he said it was some kind of yeast infection and prescribed me an anti-fungal mouth wash. And now instead of being comforted I'm more freaked out. I looked in the mirror today and it looks like it's getting worse.

When I got vaginal yeast infections in the past the prescription medication doctors prescribed often did jack ***** to help my symptoms which makes me suspicious of the anti-fungal mouth wash.  Also I know that sweet foods make yeast infections worse but how on earth am I supposed to avoid sugar when the sore I'm trying to treat is in my mouth. I'm paranoid that eating any kind of food will make the sore worth since almost all foods have some non negligible sugar content.  ::)

Well, it will take some time for the anti-fungal mouth wash to do its magic. I'm no expert, but try not to worry too much about the sugar, just avoid things like juices, candies, chocolate and stuff. The dentist knows what he is talking about :)
