Your heart was probably beating normal.  It's hard to think it is, but I've read that a "sensitized" person is more aware of their bodily functions than "non-nervously ill" people.  So your heart was probably beating normal, it's just that you were "aware" of it, and so it felt like it was beating harder or faster.  And even if it really was beating faster, that's a sure sign of anxiety.

Hello. Answer to your question does anyone else get a racing heart while laying down, yes most nights! It's because I'm wound up through the day. I have a fear of hearing/feeling my heart beat incase it is beating wrong. So when I'm stressed out (which is most days) and I'm lying down in bed, I can feel my heart pounding through my whole body, it's worse when I'm laid on my back. I do breathing and relaxation exercises and eventually it will calm down. When I wake up in the morning it always absolutely fine because being asleep has relaxed my body. And as for having enough energy, I got about an hours sleep last night and feel wide awake, I guess it's just what my body is used to. Although I'm really trying to get a more regular sleeping pattern.
Good luck.

I think everybody notices their heart beating more when they lay on their back.  Thinking about it, im 17, and 6 or 7 months ago is when I got my first panic attack which started this anxiety disorder.  I can remember going to the dentist and laying on the chairs, and i could feel my heart beating "loud".  I never thought anythinhg of it, since I didn't have a disorder then.  So it just goes to show you that it's only your nerves and your body is "sensitized" to your heart beating, when in actuality, it's beating the same it always has.
